The issuance and management of the idCAT is a procedure similar to obtaining the NIF, as it is an (electronic) document that allows identification by electronic means. And just as obtaining the NIF cannot be delegated, the idCAT cannot be acquired by another person either.

The identification process for obtaining the idCAT is as provided in article 7 of Law 6/2020, of 11 November, the law regulating certain aspects of trusted electronic services, which establishes that a certificate may be issued on behalf of a third party, provided that the signature of the application has been certified by a notary (This woman believes that the signature corresponds to the person filling out the document).

The form must be completed application of the idCAT , print it and take it to the notary's office of reference so that it can be legitimized.
